Gould Honored As Lifetime Achievement Recipient By PCA

STANFORD, Calif.- Dick Gould, Stanford's John L. Hinds Director of Tennis, was recently honored by the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) with the organization's highest honor.

At the 11th annual National Youth Sports Awards dinner held at Sharon Heights Country Club in Menlo Park, Gould was named the recipient of the 2012 Ronald L. Jensen Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Jensen, a highly successful entrepreneur and venture capitalist with investments in a variety of industries, amassed a lifetime of achievement in business and philanthropy. Jensen took particular interest in convincing entrepreneurs to give more of their wealth to worthy causes.

Gould, who has served in his current role since 2005, guided the Stanford men's tennis program to 17 NCAA Championships during his 38-year tenure as head coach. The winningest coach in school history at 776-148, Gould has mentored 10 NCAA singles titlists, seven NCAA champion doubles teams and 50 All-Americans. His players have moved on to enjoy success as Grand Slam champions, Davis Cup members and Olympians.

Gould has enjoyed coaching success at every level of competition, and he is recognized as both a pioneer in the sport and effective fundraiser.
