LA JOLLA, Calif. - The Stanford men's tennis team completed play at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championships at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club in La Jolla, Calif. today. The two remaining Stanford tandems competed hard, but ultimately fell, ending their participation in the tournament.

The duo of freshman Greg Hirshman and sophomore Richard Wire won their match in the round of 16, defeating the independent team of Charles Hoeveler and Bijan Moallemi, 7-6(5), 6-3. They advanced to the quarterfinals, but fell to Pepperdine's Sam Beidas and James Lemke, 6-2, 6-1.

The sophomore pair of Kevin Kaiser and Paul Morrissey lost their first match in the fourth round of the consolation championship to California's Eoin Heavey and Pierre Moullion, 6-2, 7-5.

Stanford will next face Pac-10 foes Arizona and Arizona State in Arizona this coming weekend. The matches will not count towards Pac-10 results.
