STANFORD, Calif. -
Goldman Family Director of Men's Swimming Ted Knapp recently announced the program's 2012-13 schedule, which features four home meets including bouts with Pac-12 Conference opponents Cal and USC.
"The meet schedule sets us up with our traditional Pac-12 rivals, and it is always great to have additional competition with Bay Area teams like UOP of those from other major conferences like Wisconsin from the Big Ten," Knapp said.
"The addition of the Pac 12 Networks is going to be the most interesting aspect and addition to our schedule. It will be exciting for our program to receive that national exposure."
Following its Oct. 6 alumni meet, Stanford will head to Stockton, Calif., for the Pacific Invitational (Oct. 20).
The Bay Area showdown between Stanford and Cal (Nov. 7) will be sandwiched between the season-opening dual meet with Wisconsin (Nov. 2) and the Toshiba Invitational (Nov. 15-17) held in Long Beach, Calif.
After more than a six-week layoff from formal competition, the Cardinal will play host to Pacific (Jan. 5) before back-to-back dual meets at Arizona State (Jan. 25) and Arizona (Jan. 26).
USC (Feb. 9) will pay a visit to Stanford two weeks before the Cardinal closes the dual meet portion of the schedule at Cal on Feb. 23.
The Cardinal returns to Long Beach for the 2013 Pac-12 Championships (March 6-9) in search of an unprecedented 32nd consecutive league title. Stanford cruised to the top of the podium at the 2012 edition of the league meet while outscoring second-place Cal by 131 points. The Pac-12 Invitational will be held on March 10.
The IU Natatorium in Indianapolis will serve as the host site for the 2013 NCAA Championships (March 28-30). Stanford will be aiming for its ninth national title and first since 1998.
All home meets will be held at Stanford's Avery Aquatic Center.
