OMAHA, Neb.-- Stanford alum Eugene Godsoe will head to Sunday's final in the 100 fly after finishing sixth in the semifinals of the Saturday event (52.47) at the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials.

Godsoe was one of two Cardinal in the semifinal field, as Bobby Bollier finished tenth with a time of 52.80. Both reached the finals after finishing seventh and ninth respectively in the morning prelims, with Godsoe swimming 52.58 and Bollier at 52.92.

This will be the second finals for Godsoe, who finished fifth in the 100 back earlier in the week.

Fellow graduate Alex Coville is the first alternate in Sunday's 50 free finals, after finishing ninth with a time of 22.34 in the semifinals, nine hundreths out of the top-eight. Coville was fifth in the morning at 22.19.

Stanford distance swimmer Chad La Tourette, who comes in with the nation's fastest 1500 free begins his quest for his first Olympic team as the top seed on Sunday in the 1500 free prelims. The women's 50 free prelims is also Sunday.

FORMAT: Shorter events, in the 100 and 200-meter category with consist of a prelims, semifinals (top-16) and finals (top-8). Longer events, 400-meters and longer will have a prelim and finals (top-8). The event is broadcast throughout the week on NBC, NBC Sports Network and also available via live webcast at www.usasswimming.org.

To make an Olympic team, a maximum of 26 men and 26 women are chosen. Since the format has been adopted the top four finishers in the 100 and 200 freestylers, as well as the top two finishers in each other event have made Team USA. Second place finishers are added based on world rankings in 2011 and 2012, after the top-four 100/200 freestylers and the winners of each event are chosen.
