OMAHA, Neb.-- Stanford graduate BJ Johnson finished sixth in the finals of the 200-meter breaststroke on Friday, the sixth Stanford swimmer to reach the finals of the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials.

Johnson, who reached the semifinals of the 100 breast earlier in the week, swam 2:11.47 in the evening after times of 2:13.02 and 2:11.48 in the prelim and semifinals on Thursday.

Stanford junior Matt Thompson, a late edition to the semifinal field of the 200 back, finished 16th with a time of 2:02.39.

Thompson finished 17th in the morning prelims, swimming at 2:01.79, and was three-tenths of a second from qualifying for the next round, until a scratch put him into the top-16. Freshman Drew Cosgarea finished in the top-25, swimming 2:02.20 for 23rd place during the morning session.

During the morning, Stanford had five women finish in the top-40 of the 100 free. Graduate Kate Dwelley was 19th (55.52), followed by Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Maddy Schaefer (20th), graduate Sam Woodward (33rd), sophomore Felicia Lee (35th) and junior Andi Murez (36th).

Saturday will feature prelims of the men's 50 free, women's 800 free, men's 100 fly and women's 200 back. Maya DiRado ranks No. 7 in the 200 back, Alex Coville ranks No. 12 in the 50 free, and Eugene Godsoe (6th), David Nolan (13th) and Bobby Bollier (14th) rank in the top-15 of the 100 fly.

FORMAT: Shorter events, in the 100 and 200-meter category with consist of a prelims, semifinals (top-16) and finals (top-8). Longer events, 400-meters and longer will have a prelim and finals (top-8). The event is broadcast throughout the week on NBC, NBC Sports Network and also available via live webcast at www.usasswimming.org.

To make an Olympic team, a maximum of 26 men and 26 women are chosen. Since the format has been adopted the top four finishers in the 100 and 200 freestylers, as well as the top two finishers in each other event have made Team USA. Second place finishers are added based on world rankings in 2011 and 2012, after the top-four 100/200 freestylers and the winners of each event are chosen.
