LONDON-- Stanford freshman Kristian Ipsen failed to qualify for the semifinals after finishing 24th at the World Cup in the 3-meter on Tuesday. The U.S. did secure another spot for the Olympics with fellow American Chris Colwill earning a top-18 finish and nine place prelim finish.
Ipsen finished with 402.3 points, while Colwill had 444.55 points.
Ipsen was sixth through two rounds and slipped to 13th place after a 57.80 on an inward 3 ½ tuck. Ipsen moved up to tenth with an 81.60, before missing a reserve 3 ½ for just 38.50 points to drop to 21st. Ipsen's final dive was a 76.50.
