Stanford diving got two more top-five finishes from Nathan Kim and Brent Eichenseer on day two of the Pac-10 Diving Championships from Federal Way, Wash. In today's 1-meter competition Kim finished third with a score of 356.65, while Eichenseer was fifth with a score of 308.35. With both springboard events in the books, the Stanford divers have put their team in good position heading into the Pac-10 Swimming Championships that begin on Wednesday, March 5.
Kim was second after the prelims, but was passed by eventual champion Mickey Benedetti of Arizona State who finished with a score of 366.20. Second place was captured by Ben Grado of Arizona who moved all the way from seventh after the prelims for his runner-up finish with a score of 358.85. Eichenseer had been eighth after the prelims, but dove well in the final to move into fifth.
The Pac-10 Diving Championships will conclude tomorrow with the platform competition.
