Swimming Teams Stay Perfect

Men and women both defeat Arizona State.

STANFORD, Calif.--The top-ranked Stanford men's swimming and diving team defeated No. 12 Arizona State, 153-83 on Saturday at deGuerre Pool on the campus of Stanford University. Stanford senior Tom Wilkens led the Cardinal as he set a pool record with a time of 1:48.02 in the 200 IM. He broke Michigan's Marcel Wouda's time of 1:48.02 set in 1995. The Cardinal improves to 5-0 on the season while the Sun Devils drop to 2-4. Stanford will face USC on February 6 at 1 p.m. in Los Angeles.

STANFORD, Calif.--The top-ranked Stanford women's swimming and diving team defeated No. 21 Arizona State, 202-98 on Saturday at deGuerre Pool on the campus of Stanford University. Sophomore Catherine Fox won the 50 Free (23.41), 200 Back (2:01.61) and 100 Fly (55.32) to lead the Cardinal. Stanford improves to 3-0 while the Sun Devils fall to 6-3. Stanford will travel to Los Angeles to face UCLA on January 30 at 2 p.m.
