International Competition: Competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2008, finishing 24th in the 100 breast... also swam at the Junior Pan Pacifics, and the Youth World Championships.

2010-11 Season (Freshman): Swam a best of 58.31 in the 100 back and 2:05.94 in the 200 back at the Pacific Invite.

High School: Lettered four years in swimming at Snohomish High, winning the state championship in 2007 and 2008 and setting the state record in the 200 medley relay... four-time All-American, earning high school swimmer of the year honors in 2008 and 2010... won the state title in the 100 breast all four years and the 50 freestyle his final two seasons.

Personal: Son of Jeff and Deanna Riechel... has one younger brother, Lance... majoring in biology.
