National Competition: At the U.S. Diving Nationals in mid-August, 2011 was one of four male Stanford divers in the three-meter, finishing 25th in the prelims (309.05).
2011-12 (Sophomore): Finished his sophomore campaign at regional zone championship, seventh in the platform (602.30), eighth in the 1-meter (610.20) and eighth in the 3-meter (672.75)... at Pac-12 championships finished fifth in the platform (297.55), sixth in the 3-meter (334.80) and ninth in the 1-meter (275.25). He was Stanford's top platformer at conference... during the regular season was third in the dual 3-meter versus Utah (328.28), ASU (325.88) and Cal (312.20)... at own Stanford Diving Invite, was second in the 3-meter (344.65) and fourth in the 1-meter (297.15) and platform (284.80)... also sixth in the 3-meter at the Wildcat Invite and eighth in the 3-meter... second team academic All-Pac-12.
2010-2011 Season (Freshman): Finished in the top-10 in all three events at Pac-10s, in the platform (seventh), one-meter (tenth), three-meter (ninth)... was tenth in the one-meter and 11th in both the three-meter and platform to close out his first collegiate season... scored points for the Cardinal with a third place showing against USC with a score of 327.90 in the three-meter... season-bests and two fifth place finishes at the Bruin Invite, scoring a 314.70 in the one-meter and a career-best of 359.55 in the semifnials of the three-meter, both coming in the semifinals.
High School: Member of the Pompano Beach High swim team for four seasons, winning state his senior year after three-straight runner-up finishes... member of the Ft. Lauderdale Diving team, reaching the National finals in 2007, 2009 and 2010... also competed at the Speedo Junior Nationals from 2005 to 1010.
Personal: Son of Manuel and Donna Garcia... has two younger siblings, Sergio and Gabrielle... majoring in civil engineering.
