International and National Competition: Part of U.S. Youth National team that competed in Barcelona in 2010.
2011-12 (Freshman): Was a two-time All-American in his first collegiate championship in the 200 medley and 400 medley relays. Part of fourth place 400 team, swimming the third leg and fifth place 200 team, also swimming third. Individually was 32nd in the 200 fly and 29th in the 200 IM... at Pac-12s was sixth in the 200 fly (1:46.98) and a part of winning 400 medley relay squad (3:07.32).... during regular season, was third in 100 fly in dual with Utah and sixth in the 200 IM at Arena Invite.
High School: Swam four years at Lakeside High... the team captain his senior season helped LHS to the county championship all four seasons... prep All-American his last three years... part of state champion 4x100 free relay team in 2011... individual state champion in the 200 free and 100 fly as both a sophomore and a senior... set team record in the 50, 100 and 200 free, 100 fly, 100 breast, 100 back and 200 IM... left as the Georgia state record holder in the 100 fly... part of Dynamo Swim Club from 2007 to 2011, swimming as a part of the short course junior national champions in 2010 and the long course junior national champions in 2011.
Personal: Son of Peter Lane and Barbara Bornemeier... father, Peter, was a punter at Columbia University.
