National and International Competition: Part of silver medal winning 4x200 free relay team, swimming the third leg at the U.S. Nationals at Stanford in 2011.
2011-12 (Senior): Finished his career as an eight-time All-American by finishing in the top-16 in the 200 freestyle and 800 free relay at NCAAs... part of the third place 800 free relay team, swimming the anchor leg to a time of 6:19.92... the same day was eighth in the 200 free (136:25), the top finisher of any Cardinal... was a Pac-12 runner-up in the 200 free, .64 behind USC's Dimitiv Colupaev, securing a time of 1:34.84... 800 free relay won the Pac-12 title... part of pool record time in the 800 free relay at the Arena Invite in the fall... scored points in the eight-point win over Arizona with a third place finish in the 200 free and was second in the 200 free in the blowouts over USC and Cal... first team academic All-Pac-12.
2010-11 (Junior): Earned All-America honors as a part of the fourth place 800 free relay team for the third place Cardinal...part of Pac-10 champion 800 free relay team, swimming the anchor leg... finished sixth at Pac-10s in the 200 free helping the Cardinal to its 30th-straight Pac-10 title. Reached the A Finals of the 200 fly at Pac-10s, where he was sixth... won the 200 fly against CS Bakersfield and Arizona State... finished second in the 100 and 200 fly events against Pacific.
2009-2010 Season (Sophomore): Earned All-American honors as part of the third place 400 freestyle and 200 medley relays as well as the seventh place 800 freestyle relay... also 15th in the 200 free... part of record breaking 400 medley relay team set at the NCAAs... placed 15th in the 200 freestyle for All-American honors (1:37.36)...placed sixth in the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle at the Pac-10 Championships...part of the second place 400 freestyle relay at the Pac-10s...placed third in the 100 butterfly against USC.
2008-09 Season (Freshman): Part of the All-American 800 freestyle relay team at the NCAA Championships.... posted a best of 1:34.96 at the 2009 NCAA Championship freestyle in the 200 and a best of 4:22.00 at the Pac-10 Championship 500.
High School: Member of the 2008 U.S. Junior National team that competed in Melbourne, Australia...ranked fourth in the nation in the 17-18 year-old age group in the 200 free...2008 U.S. Olympic trials qualifier in the 200 and 400 free...swam for the United States in the World Youth Games in Monterrey, Mexico...swam just two years of high school, but was all-state during his sophomore season.
Personal: Majoring in biomechanical engineering...parents are Alan and Michelle...one brother, Greg.
