Following is a list of the14 former Stanford soccer players that are currently playing professionally. Included in the listing is Ryan Nelsen of the Blackburn Rovers, the first Stanford alum to play in the English Premier League. Six former Cardinal players are currently on Major League Soccer rosters, and seven players are currently playing in the United Soccer Leagues First Division (formerly the A-League). 12 different Cardinal alums have MLS experience, with James Twellman and Robby Fulton being the most recent additions to the list. Twellman and Fulton were both drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes in 2005 and have spent time on the team's development squad this season.
