STANFORD, Calif. -- Fans will get the first look at the 2012 men's soccer team tonight at Cagan Stadium when the Cardinal host Sacramento State for an exhibition game. The match will begin at 7 p.m. under the lights at Cagan.
Stanford enters a new era under new coach Jeremy Gunn. Gunn takes over after leading UNC Charlotte to the national championship game last year and being named NSCAA Coach of the Year.
The Cardinal return four seniors, and were picked fourth in the Pac-12 by the coaches. UCLA was picked to win the conference, followed by California, Washington, Stanford, San Diego State and Oregon State.
Stanford last won the conference in 2001. Since then UCLA or Cal has won every Pac-12 title with UCLA winning three of the last four.
The 2012 season will be a landmark year for the Conference with the launch of the Pac-12 Networks tomorrow. Pac-12 men's soccer teams will be featured in 28 live contests shown on the Networks. For a full schedule of televised Pac-12 matches, visit www.pac-12.org
