Four Cardinal Claim Regional All-America Honors

Junior Defender Jamie Clark Heads List With First Team Selection

Four members of the 15th-ranked Stanford University men's soccer team received NCAA Division I Far West Region All-America honors. Junior defender Jamie Clark (Hanover, NH/North Carolina) received first team honors while freshman goalkeeper Adam Zapala and junior midfielders Simon Elliott and Shan Gaw (Olympia, WA/Capital HS) were each voted onto the second team. The players are selected by a vote of the region's head coaches.

Stanford's four selections led the region, followed by UCLA, Washington, New Mexico and Portland, which each placed three players on the two teams. Zapala (Cupertino, CA/Bellarmine Prep), who ranked fifth in the nation in goals-against average, was the only freshman selected to either team.
