STANFORD, Calif. - No. 5 Stanford men's gymnastics announced its 2012-13 schedule today. The Cardinal will host the first televised meet on the Pac-12 Networks in 2013, welcoming California for "The Big Flip Off" on February 17 at Burnham Pavilion. The Cardinal will host three additional events, including the Stanford Open, the Collegiate Challenge, and a second dual meet with the Golden Bears.
The Stanford Open will showcase four top-10 teams as No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 6 California and No. 9 Nebraska compete on January 19. The Cardinal travels to Ann Arbor, Mich. to take on the No. 2 Wolverines the following week. The Collegiate Challenge will feature the Japanese National Team, who had an impressive showing in last season's event when it won the team competition by almost 10 points.
The post-season begins April 6 for MPSF Championships, with NCAA Championships taking place April 19-21.
Stanford is coming off a fifth-place finish at NCAA's, and returns its entire roster from last season, including nine All-American selections and three-time NCAA individual champion Eddie Penev.
Under head coach Thom Glielmi, the Cardinal has won a pair of national titles and produced 13 NCAA Champions and 73 All-Americans.
