Six Earn All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors

STANFORD, Calif. -- Six Cardinal gymnasts were honored as All-American Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the Men's College Gymnastics Association.

The Cardinal had three student-athletes earn first team recognition and three more on the second team.

The Cardinal was led by Gabriel Alvarado who was one of just 13 gymnastics athletes in the NCAA to achieve over a 3.80 grade-point average. The other first team All-America Scholar-Athletes were Michael Levy and Cameron Foreman.

The second team honorees for the Cardinal are Jordan Nolff, Sean Senters and James Fosco.

The Cardinal was also named the College Gymnastics Association's fifth-best academic team, with an overall GPA of 3.104.

The College Gymnastics Association honored 73 individual gymnasts as 2012 first team All-America Scholar-Athletes for attaining at least a 3.50 grade point average and 52 second team All-American Scholar-Athletes for attaining a grade point average between 3.2 and 3.499.
