Nine Gymnasts Earn CGA All-America Scholar-Athlete Awards

Complete Release from the CGA in PDF Format STANFORD, Calif. - The College Gymnastics Association today released their All-America Scholar-Athletes along with the National Academic Team Champion. William & Mary were named the National Academic Team Champion, while 73 individual gymnasts as 2008 first team All-America Scholar-Athletes for attaining at least a 3.50 grade point average and 54 second team All-American Scholar-Athletes for attaining a grade point average between 3.2 and 3.499.
Stanford achieved placing nine athletes on the list. Eli Alcaraz, Jason Shen, and Bryant Hadden earned first team honors, while Eric Hergenrader, Chris Harper, Ryan Lieberman, Kyle Oi, David Sender, and Sho Nakamori notched a place on the second team. Stanford also finished fourth as a team in the National Academic Team Champion standings behind William & Mary, Ohio State, and M.I.T.
