Stanford, Calif. -
Sophomore Sho Nakamori and freshman Bryant Hadden will join teammate David Sender in bidding for a spot on the USA's 2006 World Team. Making the World Team will start by making a strong showing at the USA Championships to be held in St. Paul, Minnesota on August 16th and 18th.
Nakamori and Hadden finished 5th and 8th, respectively, at the qualifying competition held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Forty-two athletes will compete in the senior division. Sender, a USA Senior National Team member, is pre-qualified to the championships. Fourteen gymnasts will be selected to the USA Senior Team and invited to the World Team Selection Camp.
In June, Sender represented the USA at the 2006 Paris Team Competition. Sender won the vaulting event in the process of helping the five-man team capture the team competition. Host France was awarded second place and third place went to the Swiss team.
