STANFORD, Calif. - Eddie Penev has been named the Division I NCAA National Gymnast of the Week for the second time this season. The junior from Rochester, N.Y. was awarded the honor for his performance against Michigan at the Stanford Showdown on Sunday.

Penev set a season-high on still rings (14.600) to go with strong showings on floor exercise (15.500), pommel horse (13.750), vault (14.850), parallel bars (14.550) and high bar (14.100). Penev captured the all-around title with a score of 87.350.

Penev leads the nation on vault (15.400) and all-around (86.940). He also ranks second on floor exercise (15.280) and eighth on parallel bars (14.700).

Voting for the NCAA award is performed by the 17 active college coaches and the 35 College Gymnastics Association Honorary Lifetime Members, plus seven major club programs.
