STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore Tim Gentry was named the MPSF Gymnast of the Week on February 17, 2009. Gentry is the second consecutive Stanford gymnast to garner the honors in two weeks, as redshirt senior Sho Nakamori was selected last week.
Gentry set personal season-bests on all four apparatuses that he competed on at the Gold Country Classic (GCC) this past weekend in San Francisco.
His 16.4 on vault not only won the event along with being a personal season and career best, but also tied the schools best mark in history since the scoring system was switched to the new Federation of International Gymnastics Code of Points last season, which was set by David Sender last year.
Gentry also won still rings at the GCC with a season-best 15.25 on still rings, and achieved his season-bests on floor exercise (14.8) and parallel bars (13.75).
