STANFORD, Calif. - The No.7 Stanford men's gymnastics team is back in action this weekend and will compete in the Gold Country Classic Saturday evening in San Francisco. The meet is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. and will take place in Fort Mason's Herbst Pavilion.

The meet marks the third matchup between the Cardinal and second-ranked California and will also feature the Norwegian national team and the University of Calgary (Canada) squad. In the previous two matchups between Stanford and the Golden Bears, Cal has prevailed.

The Cardinal, which is 1-3 so far on the season, is currently the top-ranked team on both floor exercise and horizontal bar, and registers in third on vault and fourth on still rings. Several gymnasts are in the top-10 on varying apparatuses, including: Greg Ter-Zakhariants (t-5th - FX), Bryant Hadden (4th - SR), Tim Gentry (8th - SR), Alex Buscaglia (4th - V), Kyle Oi (8th - V), Josh Dixon (8th - FX, 9th - V), and Sho Nakamori (5th - PB, 7th - HB, 7th - AA). Nakamori was also recently selected to the 2009 U.S. Men's Senior National Team.

Admission is $20 for adults (12+) and $10 for seniors, children ages 3-11, and college students with a school ID card. Children under two years of age are free. For more information on the Gold Country Classic, please visit http://www.goldcountryclassic.com/ .
