STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 5 Cardinal travels to Berkeley on Sunday to take on No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 7 California at Haas Pavilion. Stanford has taken two of three meets with the Golden Bears this year and will be facing the Sooners for the first time in 2012.
The Cardinal has posted a season-high as a team in each of this season's meets. Stanford has six meets remaining in the regular season including another matchup with Cal next weekend at Stanford.
Stanford (4-1) is led by All-American Eddie Penev who has won the all-around title in each of Stanford's meets this season. Penev has established career highs this season in floor exercise, still rings, parallel bars, pommel horse and all-around.
California (3-2) is led by first-year head coach and former All-American Tim McNeill. Senior Glen Ishino qualified for the U.S. senior national team last week at the Winter Cup Challenge and was named MPSF gymnast of the week. Ishino won pommel horse with a two-night total of 31.450.
Oklahoma (6-2) features Jake Dalton who ranks first nationally on floor exercise, third on high bar, fifth on vault and sixth on parallel bars. The junior from Reno, Nev. ranks first in all-around with a 88.700 average.
