Stanford, Calif. - Junior Tim Gentry was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week on Tuesday. Gentry led the Cardinal at the Winter Cup Challenge in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Gentry earned a spot on the U.S. Senior National team last weekend after placing fifth in the all-around. Gentry placed third overall on rings and seventh on vault as part of his spectacular weekend.

Gentry currently ranks ninth in the nation in the all-around with an average of 86.45. His top event has been rings where he ranks second in the nation with an average score of 15.675.

Gentry and the Cardinal will next compete this Saturday, Feb.13, at the Gold Country Classic in Livermore, Calif. The collegiate session will take place at 7:00 p.m. with Stanford taking on Cal.
