STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford senior Eddie Penev was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Penev helped lead No. 3 Stanford to a season opening 425.000-411.150 victory at No. 6 California with first-place finishes in the floor (15.650) and all-around (85.200) events. The five-time All-American currently ranks first in the nation in both events.

Penev also recorded second and third-place finishes on parallel bars (14.700) and high bar (13.850), respectively.

Stanford's team score of 425.000 was the second highest team score in the NCAA on the season.
