JD Reive enters his fourth year as assistant coach for the Stanford Men's Gymnastics team. He was recently named the 2006 NCAA West Region Assistant Coach of the Year.

Last season in 2007, Reive assisted the Cardinal to a second straight third-place finish at the NCAA Championships, with five gymnasts earning eight All-American honors, including two national champions.

In 2006, Reive was named the NCAA West Regional Assistant Coach of the Year. He assisted the Cardinal to a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships and the most All-Americans in school history last season with eleven gymnasts garnering the honor.

JD began his competitive gymnastics career at age 5, and earned a spot on the National Team by age 10. Reive began competing internationally at age 11, winning the 1988 Junior Pan American games. At age 15 he was invited to move to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. A year later he finished second at the 1993 WinterCup.

Throughout his career, JD remained on the US National Team for nearly a decade. He has been involved with gymnastics as both an athlete and a coach for nearly 25 years. A 2000 graduate of the University of Nebraska, JD holds a Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communications.
