STANFORD, Calif.--The University of San Francisco and the University of the Pacific are tied for first place at nine-over par 293 after the first round of play at the U.S. Intercollegiate played at the Stanford Golf Course (par 71, 6786 yards) on the campus of Stanford University. Han Lee of California, Brett Bingham of Nevada and Phillip Cuthbertson of Sacramento State are tied for first place individually at one-under par 70.
Washington is in third place at 294 followed by UCLA in fourth place at 296. California rounds out the top five at 297. B.J. Schlagenhauf of UCLA, Darren Slackman of Washington and Matt Larson of USF round out the individual top five. They are tied for fourth place at 71.
Stanford is in 19th place at 311. Sophomore Dusty Brett, the top finisher for the Cardinal, is tied for 27th at 74.
The 54-hole U.S. Intercollegiate continues through Monday, April 13.
