SAN MARTIN, Calif. - Stanford's men's golf team closed out its fall schedule with a second-place finish at the Gifford Collegiate at Cordevalle Tuesday, carding rounds of 353-355-362 (1070, +5) on the way to its fourth top-five finish in five events. The Cardinal finished eight shots behind UCLA.
Cameron Wilson tied for second. The junior fired an opening round course-record 61 to go with consecutive rounds of 74 (209, -4) to close out the event.
Patrick Rodgers and David Boote tied for ninth, finishing one-over (214). Rodgers carded rounds of 72-70-72 and Boote 72-71-71 as the pair continued its strong first-half play.
Dominick Francks tied for 20th. The freshman posted rounds of 74-69-75 (218, +5) on the way to his best finish of the season.
Steve Kearney and Shane Lebow tied for 41st (223, +10).
Stanford tees off its spring season February 6 at the Amer Ami Invitational.
Patrick Grimes, competing as an individual, finished tied for 16th. The sophomore shot rounds of 76-66-75 (217, +4) in his best finish of the season.
Keegan English, also competing as an individual, carded rounds of 80-78-75 (233, +20) to finish 67th.
