ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Stanford men's golf team sits in 15th place after one round at the U.S. Collegiate Championship, hosted by the Golf Club of Georgia. The Cardinal trails first place USC by 17 strokes with two rounds remaining.

Sophomore Patrick Rodgers led the Cardinal, firing a 70 (-2) and good for a share of fourth. The sophomore from Avon, Ind. made six birdies in the opening round.

Freshman David Boote carded a 75 (+3), good for a share of 34th.

Cameron Wilson, in his first action of the season after rehabilitating from a back injury, is tied for 63rd after shooting 79 (+7).

Dominick Francks posted a round of 82 (+10), good for 75th.

Senior Steve Kearney is tied for 76th after an opening round 83 (+11).
