STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford sophomore Patrick Rodgers was named Golfweek magazine's Player of the Week yesterday.

Rodgers fired rounds of 72-68-67 (207, -3) to win the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational by five strokes. The Avon, Ind. native successfully defended his title after winning the event a year ago in the first tournament of his collegiate career.

The victory moved Rodgers to the No. 1 position in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings.
