First Round Results

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - The No. 10 Stanford men's golf team carded an opening round 297 (+17) at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Field County Club's South Course. The defending champion Cardinal trails leader Arkansas by fourteen strokes.

Sophomore Patrick Rodgers is tied for ninth after an opening round 72 (+2). Rodgers, last year's individual champion, carded three bogies on the day.

Andre DeDecker and freshman David Boote are tied for 20th after shooting 73 (+3). DeDecker is tied for the tournament lead in par-3 scoring at 2.75 and Boote played consistent golf in his first collegiate competition, making four bogies and a birdie.

Steve Kearney and Shane Lebow each shot 79 (+9), good for a share of 60th.
