Chung and Bramlett Advance to Match Play at U.S. Amateur

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Stanford junior David Chung and Joseph Bramlett '10 have advanced to the match play portion of the U.S. Amateur Championships being held at Chambers Bay Golf Club and the Home Course in University Place, Wash.

Bramlett finished tied for seventh in the medalist competition with and even par 143 on rounds of 72 and 71. He will face Mike Miller of Brewster, NY tomorrow at 11:40 a.m. in the first round of match play.

Chung bounced back from yesterday's 75 at Chambers Bay to fire a three-under 69 on the Home Course for a 36-hole total of 145, good for 13th. Chung will square off against Mike McCoy of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Steve Ziegler (78-73-151), Sihwan Kim (72-80-156), Cameron Wilson (72-87-159) and George Downing (85-75-160) failed to qualify for match play. The cutline was at 149.
