Patrick Rodgers, who had two victories among his 10 top-10 finishes this season, has been named a first team PING All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Rodgers is joined on the first team by Blayne Barber of Auburn, TCU's Julien Brun, Dylan Frittelli and Jordan Spieth of Texas, Chattanooga's Stephan Jaeger, Daniel Miernicki and Eugene Wong of Oregon, Illinois' Thomas Pieters, Alabama's Justin Thomas and Washington's Chris Williams.
He is the first Stanford freshman to earn first team PING All-America honors since Sihwan Kim in 2008.
Rodgers finished his freshman campaign leading the Cardinal in stroke average with a mark of 70.7 in his 12 events, managing to shoot par or better in 26 of his 37 rounds. He won his first collegiate event at the Olympia Fields Fighting Illini Invitational in September and posted his second victory of the season at the Western Intercollegiate in Santa Cruz.
The Pac-12 Freshman of the Year was also one of three finalists for the Hogan Award, presented annually to the top player in collegiate golf.
