Stanford Finishes Fifth at The Nelson
Kribel Ties for Seventh, Brett Finishes 15th
STANFORD, Calif.--The 25th-ranked Stanford men's golf team finished
in fifth place with 874 at The Nelson played at the Stanford Golf Course (Par
71, 6786 Yards) in Stanford, Calif. Stanford carded a 10-over par 294 in the
final round. No. 12 Colorado State finished first at 860 followed by No. 2
Georgia Tech at 861. No. 21 Louisiana State finished third at 865 while
top-ranked Arkansas finished fourth at 873.
Randy Leen of Indiana finished on top individually at three-under par 210.
1997 U.S. Amateur Champion Matt Kuchar of Georgia Tech and LSU's Adam Manuel
tied for second at 211. P.J. Smith of LSU and Wes Latimer of Georgia Tech tied
for fourth at 212.
Stanford junior All-American Joel Kribel finished fifth at two-over par 215
while sophomore Dusty Brett tied for 15th at 218. Freshman Alex Aragon tied for
31st at 223 followed by sophomore Tylar Lunke in 41st place at 226. Freshman
Jimmy Lee tied for 65th at 232.
