Owings Mill, Md. - Amid rainy conditions, the Stanford men's golf team shot a 300 Friday afternoon at the 2005 NCAA Men's Golf Championships at Caves Valley Golf Club (par 70, 7131 yards). The Cardinal's three-round total of 888 (296-292-300) finish tied for 18th overall. Only the top 15 teams advance to play tomorrow's final round. Freshman golfer Rob Grube, is in 13th place with a four-over 214 (71-71-72) and will advance to play as an individual on Saturday.

After Friday's play, the field was cut to the top 15 teams and six individuals.

Georgia, continues to lead the field with 15-over 855 (274-284-297), followed by Georgia Tech (864), Southern California (875) and UNLV (876). Five teams are tied for fifth with an 877.

Sophomore Zack Miller is tied for 29th at eight-over 218 (70-69-79) while senior Kevin Blue tied for 85th with a 225 (76-74-75). Senior Pat Phillips tied for 139th carding a 233 (79-78-76) while teammate Matt Savage checked in tied for 147th (79-79-77--235).

A portion of the final day at this year's championships will be televised by The Golf Channel from 3 to 5 p.m. Eastern time.
