Joel Kribel Ties for Second

Men's golf finishes sixth at Pac-10 Championships.

ORINDA, Calif.--Stanford junior Joel Kribel tied for second place at the Pac-10 Championships played at the Orinda Country Club (Par 72, 6352 Yards) in Orinda, Calif. Kribel finished at three-under par 283 after carding a four-over par 76 in the final round. Stanford finished in sixth place at 1476 after recording a 1477 in the last round.

Kribel, a native of Pleasanton, Calif., is currently ranked 15th in the nation individually. He has posted nine top 10 finishes in 10 tournaments this season. He finished first at the Ping/Arizona Invitational with a career-best 13-under par 200.

Arizona State captured the team title at four-over par 1444. UCLA finished second at 1455 while Arizona finished third at 1459. California finished fourth at 1461 while Washington finished fifth at 1476.

Paul Casey of Arizona State fired a six-under par 283 in the final round to capture the individual title. Casey finished with a 72-hole total 283. Kribel tied for second place with Dan Arroyo of California at 285. Jin Park of Arizona State finished fourth at 286 followed by Jorge Corral of USC at 287.

The top teams in the west will compete in the West Region Championships on May 14-16 at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Arizona. Qualifying teams will be announced on May 5.
