COLUMBUS, Ohio--Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh, following an 11-win regular season and a BCS Berth on January 3 into the Discover Orange Bowl, was named the 2010 Woody Hayes Award winner for top national football coach.

Harbaugh's Cardinal went 11-1 during the regular season, a school-record for wins. The team, currently on a seven game win streak, play Virginia Tech in Miami in the team's first major bowl since the Rose Bowl in 1999. The team enters the bowl season No. 4 in the final BCS standings and No. 5 in both national polls.

Harbaugh is 28-21 as a head coach at Stanford in his fourth season.

The award will be presented during the 56th annual Touchdown Club of Columbus Sports Awards on Saturday, February 5 at the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion in Columbus. More information can be garnered at www.touchdownclubofcolumbus.com.

This is the second time Harbaugh has received an national award named after a Ohio State legend. In 1986, he was named the Chic Harley Award winner, given to the nation's top quarterback, while at Michigan.
