STANFORD, Calif. -
Senior Toby Gerhart and sophomore Chris Owusu have earned spots on Sporting News magazine's mid-season All-America team, which was released today.
Gerhart, who leads the Pac-10 and ranks fifth nationally in rushing average with a 124.1 per game mark, joins Alabama sophomore Mark Ingram as the running back selections on Sporting News Mid-Season All-America team.
Gerhart currently ranks fourth on Stanford's all-time career rushing list with 2,520 yards and needs just three more yards to move into third place. He has rushed for 100 or more yards in 14 career games, including a career-high 200 yard effort earlier this season against Washington.
Owusu was named to the mid-season All-America squad as a kick off returner. The sophomore ranks fourth in the nation in kickoff return average at 35.6 yards per return and has returned three kickoffs for touchdowns this season, tying a Pac-10 record.
