HWDI Episode 5: Smiling Cold-Blooded

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford Football and The Cardinal Channel, the creative video production team of Stanford Athletics, today released the fifth episode of "How We Do It," the 15-week original video series that takes viewers inside all angles of the Cardinal Football program.

Episode 5, "Smiling Cold-Blooded," is an insider's journey through the Cardinal's game day and 21-14 victory over USC at Stanford Stadium:

The pre-game atmosphere was electric with a sea of tailgating and a packed crowd to celebrate the team's tradition of The Walk to Stanford Stadium...

Inside the stadium locker room, the Cardinal were ignited by an impassioned speech from senior inside linebacker Shayne Skov, which he explains came a memorable play and role model on Stanford's 2010 team, Owen Marecic...

Bradford M. Freeman Director of Football David Shaw took the baton with his final words to the team, before they marched through the Stanford Stadium tunnel with their rally cry and raced onto the field...

The home crowd was as on fire, louder than any other in the five-year career of outside linebacker Chase Thomas, making an impact on the field throughout the game...

Thomas and associate head coach / defensive coordinator Derek Mason talk about Stanford's "big dog defense," with a thirst to hunt and a devastating impact on USC's offense...

Senior running back Stepfan Taylor and senior tight end Zach Ertz made the big scoring plays of the evening, which they and running backs coach Mike Sanford dissect...

 

 

And the fans rushed the field to set off a wild celebration, which continued for players and coaches in the locker room...
