STANFORD, Calif. -
Stanford and the University of Virginia will commence a two-game home-and-home series beginning in 2017, marking the first ever meeting between the two schools.
The first meeting will take place in Charlottesville on Sept. 9, 2017 before the series moves west the following year for a Sept. 8 contest at Stanford Stadium.
"We are very pleased to begin a home-and-home series with Virginia in 2017," said Stanford's Jaquish & Kenninger Director of Athletics Bob Bowlsby. "The two universities are elite academic institutions that represent the best values in intercollegiate athletics."
Stanford has entered home-and-home series with two other schools from the Atlantic Coast Conference in recent years. The Cardinal split a pair of games with Wake Forest in 2009 and '10 and will play the second game of a home-and-home series with Duke on Sept. 8 at Stanford Stadium.
