STANFORD, Calif. - As part of the Read Across America program, members of the Stanford football team celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss on Friday with students from local elementary schools.
Participating players included senior tri-captain Sam Schwartzstein, Rose Bowl Defensive MVP Usua Amanam, and All-American offensive lineman David Yankey. Other players taking part were seniors Shayne Skov and Tyler Gaffney; juniors Jeff Trojan and Dillon Bonnell, sophomores Kevin Anderson, JB Salem, Alex Yazdi and freshmen Connor Crane, Noor Davis, Josh Garnett, Craig Jones, Luke Kaumatule, Drew Madhu, Ikenna Nwafor, Aziz Shittu, Conrad Ukropina and Sam Yules.
Read Across America Day is designed to celebrate the great author and to highlight the importance of reading in America's elementary and middle schools. Stanford football plans to visit several more elementary schools throughout the spring.
