BRISTOL, Conn.-- Stanford Running Game Coordinator / Offensive Line Coach Mike Bloomgren was named one of ESPN.com's top recruiters in the nation, earning the honor as the Pac-12 Conference Recruiter of the Year, following the Cardinal's reloading of the offensive line with the most recent signing class.
Bloomgren, following his first full season on The Farm, landed seven offensive linemen from seven different states as part of Rivals.com's No. 5-rated overall 2012 recruiting class.
Overall, three members of the new O-Line rated among the national top-50. ESPNU rated Andrus Peat No. 9, Kyle Murphy No. 27 and Joshua Garnett No. 44 in the nation. Six were prep All-Americans as well, while three were among the top-eight offensive linemen entering college in 2012.
In a unanimous decision, Scout.com, Rivals.com and ESPN.com all named Stanford's class the top offensive line class in the nation, with many pundits saying it was the top offensive line class ever in college football.
The Cardinal, which will return three starters on the offensive line from this year's Fiesta Bowl team, will also look to replace projected first round picks David DeCastro and Jonathan Martin. The duo with quarterback Andrew Luck and tight end Coby Fleener have all been projected as first round selections for the NFL Draft in April.
