STANFORD, Calif. -- - Stanford assistant coach Lance Andersonhas been named the National Recruiter of the Year by Scout/FOXSportsNet for his role in helping the Cardinal land one of the top recruiting classes in the nation last week.
Anderson, who also works with Stanford's outside linebackers, was instrumental in securing a recruiting class that featured four five-star prospects, including offensive linemen Andrus Peat, Joshua Garnett, Kyle Murphy along with defensive end Aziz Shittu, along with outside linebacker Noor Davis, offensive lineman Brandon Fanaika, defensive end/tight end Luke Kaumatule and inside linebacker Blake Martinez.
Of Stanford's signees, 13 were recognized as high school All-Americans by Parade, SuperPrep or PrepStar.
Stanford's 2012 recruiting class was ranked as the top class in the Pac-12 Conference and No. 6 nationally by Scout.com.
A native of Rupert, Idaho, Anderson joined Stanford's coaching staff in 2007 as defensive tackles coach and recruting coordinator.
