Stanford University's Bradford M. Freeman Director of Football and head coach Jim Harbaugh today named Greg Roman an assistant coach on the Cardinal staff. He will serve as the team's run game coordinator and will also work with the tight ends and offensive tackles.

In addition, Harbaugh announced Tim Drevno will serve as offensive line coach. Drevno had worked with the tight ends for the last two seasons.

Roman, 36, brings 13 years of NFL coaching experience to his position at Stanford. He most recently served as the assistant offensive line coach of the Baltimore Ravens from 2006-07 and also spent four seasons on the coaching staff of the Houston Texans, where he served as the tight ends (2002-03) and quarterbacks coach (2004-05). Roman began his coaching career with the Carolina Panthers, where he served as a defensive and offensive assistant coach from 1995-01.

A native of Ventnor, NJ, Roman was a defensive lineman at John Carroll University from 1990-93.
