Sabrina Kolker '03, led the Canadian Women's eight into Sunday's World Championship grand final in Dorney, England. "We were down, but we edged back," said Kolker, who slid off her seat in the early stage of the race. "It was in the first 500 meters, but I just got back and stayed as calm as possible." Canada will face gold medal favorite USA in the finals.

Two-time world champion Adam Kreek and the Canadian Men's Eight were sitting in the second position entering the last 500 meters of their semi-final. Stroke Kristopher McDaniel was unable to sustain the lift as Great Britain and Poland moved through the Canadian eight and joined semi-winner Australia to advance to Sunday's final. The U.S, German, and Australia men are the favorites for the gold medal.

In the men's single event, Jamie Schroeder will race for a top ten finish in the world on Saturday. His regatta has been spectacular in that this is his first international sculling competition. Jamie will train fiercely throughout the next year in hopes of improving at next year's world championships.
