WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - Stanford oarsman Austin Hack and partner Tim Aghai cruised to a six-second win in the men's pair at the U.S. Under-23 Trials Wednesday, earning a spot on the U.S. team for this summer's Under-23 World Championships.

For Hack it will be his second straight appearance at the Under-23 World Championships. Last summer both he and Aghai were part of the gold medal-winning U.S. eight in Amsterdam.

This year's Under-23 World Rowing Championships will be held July 11-15 in Lithuania.

Hack and Aghai crossed the line with a winning time of 6:39.133 in Wednesday's final.

"This was a resounding win for Austin and Daruish," said Stanford men's rowing head coach Craig Amerkhanian. "Now the challenge comes over the next few weeks to find international gold-medal speed. Racing in Lithuania will be a tremendous experience for both. I am very proud of both young men, as they represent the future of USA men's rowing and the drive for Rio in 2016 for the Olympic Games."

Since 2003, Amerkhanian has overseen 11 Stanford men's rowers reaching the Under-23 World Championships.
