Stanford men's basketball head coach Johnny Dawkins has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Ethics Coalition, an independent committee of current and former basketball coaches. The coalition board will identify key rules and issues that challenge the coaching community in making ethical decisions. Mark Sembrowich has accepted the position of men's basketball head coach at Academy of Art University in San Francisco, as announced by Athletic Director Dr. Jamie Williams. Sembrowich, 43, previously served as the Recruiting/Academic Coordinator at Stanford during the 2008-09 campaign. Sembrowich was involved with all aspects of the program, focusing primarily on recruiting efforts and monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes. >> Read More
Stanford closed out the 2008-09 campaign at 20-14 overall and 6-12 in Pac-10 play. For the 20th time in school history, the Cardinal reached the 20-win plateau. Following up last year's 28-8 mark, this is the first time since 2002-03 (24-9 overall) and 2003-04 (30-2 overall) that Stanford has posted back-to-back 20-win campaigns. Goods Snags Five Honors At Annual Team Awards Banquet
Stanford men's basketball head coach Johnny Dawkins has announced the signing of two incoming student-athletes to letters of intent. Gabriel Harris (Birmingham, Ala.) and Andrew Zimmermann (Oostburg, Wis.) will join the men's basketball program for the 2009-10 campaign, along with Andy Brown, who signed with the Cardinal back in November.
Senior Anthony Goods walked away with five awards, including a share of the Hank Luisetti Most Valuable Player honor, highlighting the Stanford men's basketball team annual awards banquet on Wednesday night in front of approximately 200 people at the Arrillaga Family Sports Center. >> Read More
