No. 8 Stanford Beats UC Santa Barbara 95-62

STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - David Moseley scored a career-high 20 points and Ryan Mendez 18 Monday night to lift No. 8 Stanford to a 95-62 win over Santa Barbara.

Moseley made 6-of-8 3-pointers to lead the Cardinal (8-0).

B.J. Bunton paced Santa Barbara (2-6) with a career-high 20 points and Kealon Wallace added 11.

The Cardinal, which made 10 3-pointers, used a 21-8 scoring spurt at the outset of the second half to take a 60-34 lead blow the game open. Mark Madsen scored all 11 of his points in the run.

The Gauchos took an early 10-9 lead on a fast-break layup by Bunton, but that only served to jolt the Cardinal into high gear.

Following a pair of baskets by Kris Weems and Mendez, Stanford sank five straight 3-pointers - three by Moseley - in a 15-3 run to take a 28-15 lead.

The Cardinal went on to a 39-26 halftime lead, and Santa Barbara never recovered.
