No. 8 Stanford Beats UC Santa Barbara 95-62
STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - David Moseley scored a career-high 20 points and
Ryan Mendez 18 Monday night to lift No. 8 Stanford to a 95-62 win over Santa
Barbara.
Moseley made 6-of-8 3-pointers to lead the Cardinal (8-0).
B.J. Bunton paced Santa Barbara (2-6) with a career-high 20 points and
Kealon Wallace added 11.
The Cardinal, which made 10 3-pointers, used a 21-8 scoring spurt at the
outset of the second half to take a 60-34 lead blow the game open. Mark Madsen
scored all 11 of his points in the run.
The Gauchos took an early 10-9 lead on a fast-break layup by Bunton, but
that only served to jolt the Cardinal into high gear.
Following a pair of baskets by Kris Weems and Mendez, Stanford sank five
straight 3-pointers - three by Moseley - in a 15-3 run to take a 28-15 lead.
The Cardinal went on to a 39-26 halftime lead, and Santa Barbara never
recovered.
