STANFORD, Calif.-- Stanford Baseball will welcome back its alumni on Saturday, October 17 starting at noon at Sunken Diamond with the team's old timers game, followed by a “first look” at this year's team, when they play host to their younger alumni at 1:30 p.m. A barbeque will follow the annual alumni event.

Stanford Baseball will welcome back the double play combination of second baseman Colin Walsh and shortstop Jake Schlander, along with all-conference outfielder Kellen Kiilsgaard. Six-game winner Brett Mooneyham returns to the pitching staff, as does fellow weekend starter Jordan Pries.

Amongst the newcomers, infielder Kenny Diekroeger is a highly touted rookie out of the Bay Area, while Jake Stewart is a key newcomer to the outfield. Righthander Mark Appel is slated to be one of the team's top incoming pitchers.

Stanford finished the 2009 season 30-25 in Mark Marquess' 33rd season. The Cardinal have played in 14 College World Series, won 20 conference championships and have featured 82 players all-time in the Major Leagues—including 11 this year. Another 30 or so played in the minors this past season.

The Cardinal open up the 2010 campaign with a three-game series with Rice University at Sunken Diamond on February 19.
