CHATANOOGA, Tenn.-- London-born and former Stanford first round pick, Chris Reed, was named to the international roster of the Futures Game on July 8.

The former Cardinal closer, is now a starter in the Dodgers organization after being a first round pick in 2011.

In his first full season in 2012, the lefthander has a 2.00 ERA over three starts and 9.0 early innings for Double-A Chatanooga. He has struck out seven and walked five. Opponents are hitting .133 against him.

In 2011, Reed went 1-4 with a 3.09 ERA over seven games and 35.0 innings for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. Opponents hit .203 against him. Overall he has a 2.86 ERA in 10 career games, with a .190 opponent average.

Reed was rated as the No. 5-best prospect by Baseball America prior to the 2012 season.

Other former Cardinal in the Futures Game, included: Joe Borchard (2001-02), Jason Castro (2009), Ryan Garko (2005) and Kyle Peterson (1999)
